The pub itself has been situated here as the heart of the community for over 300 years and still serves locals and visitors to the area alike. Hosting 14 boutique bedrooms, and open 7 days a week, with a lovely children's play area, there's something for everyone at The Black Swan.

We stayed for our daughter's wedding in the pub. Fabulous day nothing touch trouble. Staff amazing food excellent. The rooms for all the family just so clean neat .First class would recommend. Margaret
The fundamentals were all good for my stay - spacious bar, large bedroom, friendly service, clean. What kept this from being a five-star review was the average dinner, broken iron, and highly limited breakfast. Modern interior lacks some authentic character. However, this would be a fantastic family venue for a lunch or dinner. I can imagine sitting outside in the large beer garden on a summer day enjoying a meal as part of a larger group, with plenty of space for children to play.
Came here on Sunday for a family celebration. Lovely location, excellent play area. Had the family £40 Sunday feast such a let down. Barely any vegetables (enough for maybe 2 people) Yorkshire puds were good size but was burnt round the edges, and to top it off it was barely warm - definitely a hot plate situation - the mash itself seemed like it was nuked in the microwave as it wasn't very creamy and had a bit of a crust on it. Won't be returning for the food as the standards are too low for the price tag. The actual 'drinking' leisure side of things were pleasant. Didn't try desserts as for the size from other patrons portions it was not worth the price tag either.
We were a party of 13 and the handle it very well. Food came out in a timely manner. Staff we very helpful and polite. Food was of a good quality and reasonably priced. Plenty of car parking space. Outside area is great for kids. Next time I'm in the area I'm definitely going back.
We have been here for the past three Sundays and the food is amazing. Sunday roasts are to absolutely to die for (not literally)and the homemade steak pie and chips is lovely. Staff are friendly and attentive. Fantastic play area for the kids with a massive zip wire. Definitely worth the journey and money x
