The Black Swan Inn is a grade 2 listed building perfectly situated in the heart of the Purbeck countryside and right at the gateway to the beautiful World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. A good old-fashioned pub with two bars serving a lovingly-selected range of ales, ciders, wines and spirits as well as delicious food. Two real log fires for cosy winter evenings and delightful secluded gardens where you can soak up the last of the evening sun. Situated on the High Street, only a short stroll to the sea, the Black Swan Inn is one of those special secrets that you'll want to tell everyone about! The bar opens daily from 5pm-late and opens from Midday-late on Sundays, food is served Monday - Saturday 6pm-9pm Sunday Lunch 12pm-3pm, serving roasts in addition to the normal menu (Platters & Steaks are not available during this period). Sunday Evening 6pm-9pm.
We had a scrumptious Sunday Lunch, Roast Turkey for me with bread sauce I LOVE bread sauce, the young lady who looked after us was so lovely and welcoming, thank you very much!
Visited friends in Swanage over the weekend. Great company and weather . Visited the Black Swan for Sunday lunch. Great food, only spoilt by having our roast meal drowned in gravy when we'd asked for our gravy to be separate. Otherwise, really great roast . 😋
Visiting friends and booked table. Didn't realise live music. Food was great but was spoilt by way too much gravy!! We asked for it to be separate as we don't like our roast swimming in gravy but it didn't turn up that way. Otherwise all good 👍
Lovely little find, me and a mate came down in the evening after work to walk a bit of the Jurassic coast tomorrow and found this place to eat. The staff were really friendly and the place was nice and cozy. It was also packed, which is always a good sign and we were glad we booked. Their menu was extensive and they had loads of specials, each course was spot on. They had a great selection of beer also, so full marks all round. Would highly recommend if visiting the area or even if you live here.
Amazing food with great service! This old pub looks amazing inside. The toilets were a little cold as you had to go outside to get to them and there is no heat but it suits the rustic atmosphere. The chef would pop out every now and then to talk to people just to see how they were enjoying their meal. It was very nice to see his smiling face. You can tell he really enjoys his career. 😃

We are a friendly social club that welcomes its club members and the public situated in Swanage. We offer great beer, local food and entertainment along with Sky and TNT Sport packages. It has a community feel and is definitely worth a visit.
