Me and my friend booked in for a lovely meal, was very quiet on a Thursday evening. Could have had a menu give me a little quicker and one that had all the options on it, but besides that, the service was excellent. Really attentive and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them! I had the steak and swapped out the salad for the creamed spinach which honestly was Devine. Such an enjoyable meal, so tasty. We had the mac n cheese to share which was also lovely! The steak was cooked to PERFECTION. Worth every penny. The food is a bit pricey but the quality is so worth it. I would highly recommend this pub for food and for service! Will be back again! Thank you!

There was a very large party on the day we visited so service was slow but we were given a heads up about it. Our waiter Nico was very good and took great care of our table. The food was nice and we ordered a large selection from the menu. The environment was especially pleasant and would be even nicer sitting outside in summer.

Been here lots of times before, this particular visit was at a very quiet time of day when I imagine most people are at work so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We weren’t starving so had a selection of the starters (scallops with broad beans, pressed lamb belly with broccoli and anchovies, asparagus and greens in balsamic, fat chips and a truffle mac and cheese) they were all delicious. Waiter was a lovely attentive French man and the mains and puddings on the menu looked enticing, if only we’d had bigger bellies! Lots of parking, nice outside tables too, some in the sun and plenty under some shade. If you’re in the area, honestly one of the better pub lunches around. Sunday Roasts are good here too.

Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. Popped in for a meal after collecting family from Gatwick. Ambience and atmosphere - spot on. Lovely little garden terrace and open airy feel inside as well. Sam and Sophie were great with everyone, especially Our allergies and weird requests while taking care of other guests. Not only that, they know their menu and know it well. Went out of their way, and because of that, we’ll go out of ours to return again. Highly recommend. Sorry for the lack of photos, we ate it all. Cheese board is a must have, especially that black truffle honey. The chicken pate is delish too!

We were driving around the outside of the city with our friends who live here. After stopping in Richmond (Go AFC Richmond 🤣 - i.e. Ted Lasso) the drove us out to a truly hidden gem! We came down a single lane 2 way road and turned into this gorgeous property. Barbie is the owner / manager and she personally waited on us with her team. There is something special about the owner sitting with you and sharing their time and love! She even shared a bottle of her personal collection of special wines that she had opened for herself earlier that day. The appetizers were all a taste of heaven, I had the fish & chips, others had a pork dish and fish dishes. Everyone was moaning at how good it all tasted. The staff were so sweet! The grounds are so beautiful. Take a half a day trip or even a few hours to visit this piece of heaven. Barbie even told us that the tavern scene in American Werewolf in London was filmed there. I can even see this place hosting a wedding shower, rehearsal dinner or other special events.
