The Black Horse is very much the village local although the quality of its Sunday carvery brings in customers from further afield.
Part of the reason for this may well be that the owner used to be a butcher! Mainly Georgian from the outside, there are earlier 17th century features inside. The impressive huge stone fireplace, bedecked with horse brasses, is a more modern addition. The lounge is carpeted and the furniture is comfortable, so it's an easy place in which to linger. The pub teams use the separate public bar for their dominoes and pool matches, and all those diners fill the 70 seater restaurant on Sundays!
