The Black Dog Inn is situated approximately 4 miles east of Dorchester on the A352. Broadmayne is a rural village close to Dorchester, Weymouth and the Jurassic coast with the world famous Chesil Beach leading to Portland. The village is surrounded by open countryside offering some spectacular views and a choice of easy or challenging rambles. We are also close to the Dorset village of Moreton, where Lawrence of Arabia is laid to rest. We have accommodation available for those wishing to explore Moreton in greater depth.
In December 2014 the pub opened the doors of the bar to the village of Broadmayne after being closed and refurbished, just in time for those Christmas celebrations.
Earlier in 2014 the pub, which dates back to 1851, was bought from Punch Taverns by a local family who set about a refurbishment and rebuilding schedule. The pub has 8 en-suite letting bedrooms, and a spacious dining area where tasty home cooked pub grub meals are served using the finest ingredients from local suppliers in Dorset; yet still retaining the charm of a village inn.
For those sunny Dorset days we have a large beer garden with a childrens play area and pride ourselves on being a family friendly pub.

Just had a wonderful post Christmas 3 night break here. Everything was perfect. Lovely clean room, friendly welcoming team and excellent food. We stayed for breakfast and dinner, and the choice and quality was amazing. Great location for exploring Dorset. Took our dog, and enjoyed some very scenic walks.
Christmas 🎄 The Christmas menu food was outstanding 👌 We had baked camembert, Traditional turkey, the most amazing roasties. Delicious Lamb with Yorkshire pud. Festive meringue and lemon cheesecake. So Delicious and so full. Could fit in coffee and mince pies. Thank you for a great evening
