Man at end of the night was rude to my partner. Noone asked if we wanted cream or ice cream so when dessert came out with ice cream we asking for pouring cream instead. The boy said "you could have asked before we served it". We were there for my MIL birthday meal and it just added a really sad note to the end as it's all we could talk about.

It's a clean and friendly place. Visited by a lot of the people who live in the village. They are known for the steak pie. Not pictured but ordered on this round was the Ceasar salad (which looked delicious), the veg lasagna (which is a favorite), and the stuffed chicken which is a solid choice. I got the Mac n cheese and it was pretty good...better than I anticipated. Also pictured was a cheesecake. I heard good things.

Title: A Wholesome Bite at Birkhill Inn Tucked away in the heart of [location], the Birkhill Inn presents itself as a charming spot for a satisfying meal. I had the pleasure of indulging in their famed steak pie, and it didn't disappoint. The ambience of the inn is inviting, with warm lighting and a cozy atmosphere that immediately sets the stage for a pleasant dining experience. The staff was welcoming, adding a personal touch to the evening. As for the steak pie, it was the epitome of comfort food - a flaky, golden crust enveloping tender, flavorful chunks of steak bathed in a rich, savory gravy. Each bite was a delightful blend of hearty textures and robust flavors, leaving a lingering, satisfying taste that resonated. While relishing the pie, I couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail in the dish's presentation. Accompanied by perfectly cooked seasonal vegetables and chips, the meal was a harmonious symphony of flavors and textures. Though the menu offered a variety of tempting options, the steak pie stole the show, showcasing the chef's dedication to traditional, quality cuisine. The portion was generous, ensuring a fulfilling meal that left me content yet yearning to return and explore more of their offerings. Overall, the Birkhill Inn offers a delightful retreat for those seeking a comforting meal in a welcoming environment. The steak pie alone makes it a worthwhile stop, promising a taste of culinary satisfaction that lingers long after the last bite.

Took me 33 years to get to a high tea but it finally happened. Like there's something truly joyful about just getting unlimited amounts of white toast triangles brought out to butter up and indulge yerself in right before you have gammon and chips or whatever other Scottish pub classic takes your fancy that day (I actually had a veggie burger for those interested but there was gammon present at the table). And then you get cakes and tea!! Living the actual dream honestly. Anyway concept aside, the food was good and the place was lively and everyone had an excellent time. Couple veggie options (lasagna, burger, mac n cheese).

Hadn't been for a while and the steak pie was as good as ever. Service was very quick and efficient, with all the the staff being very pleasant. Looking forward to a return trip. The bar area was nice to sit on a cold afternoon and the smell of the food definitely enticed me to come back. Steak pie as awesome as ever and chicken/black pudding so tender. Service very quick too
