A unique food and dining experience in the heart of Bermondsey.
The Bermondsey Yard Cafe is a new dining concept situated at the heart of energetic and vibrant Bermondsey Street, SE1. This exciting and totally unique bar/restaurant is set in a disused car park which has been stripped back to its original industrial design features, exposing all its raw materials, contrasted against reclaimed furniture and cool lighting, creating a flexible space for work and play.
This former car park has been renovated with an open plan kitchen and bar whilst an entirely new outside space has been constructed. The venue has a pop-up feel, festoon lighting and is set off the main street, with an amazing view of the Shard...a hidden oasis from London’s bustling streets.
The outside space is used for alfresco wining and dining but will also be used as an exciting event space- hosting beer festivals, (involving local micro breweries with The Lost Rivers special) outdoor cinema events, pop-up restaurants and many more.

Staff were kind and polite to my daughter. Food was great and I really enjoyed visiting. If I'm in the area again, I'll endeavour to go back!
Recommended by a friend as she has been there before. However this time, the food was AWFUL to say the least (and we are foodies so its hard to disappoint us) to describe the service and food are as follows: Was not offered water compared to other guests (guest before and after us was offered water... which was strange) Steak was tough (medium rare) steak knife couldn't even cut through it. It was swimming in gravy Drinks were bland The veg that came with the Sunday roast were all in 1 bowl that's enough to feed 1 person when we ordered Sunday roast EACH WE HAD TO TELL THEM TWICE TO KEEP VEG SEPERATED FOR MEDICAL REASONS. Still didn't listen (shown in the picture) The cauliflower was scrapings from the bottom of the pot and was given to us TWICE All that me and another friend had was chips and a drink. I told the host I want to just pay for the chips and drink. Restaurant policy is if you do not like your food you take it off the bill..... She said no as she's added a discount to the overall bill. I literally paid for a meal I didn't eat (shown in the picture as we left... and we LOVE steak). Instead of trying to fix the situation, they just hovered around us to hear our complaints amongst each other and just wanted to take our money. Was catastrophically disappointed and have to say with a passion that this place is worse than Turtle Bay and we won't be coming back. Either way, they made that very clear by the way they've handled the situation. Thoroughly disappointed. Wow
We liked the atmosphere and it was comfortable, but the food was not very tasty
Only rating this based on two visits. Both times the drinks felt over-priced, and the second time in particular was a tragedy. I ordered the summer berry mocktail, making sure to ask if the drink was sweet before ordering, and what turned out was a small glass of what might be the worst drink I've had at any bar in my entire life. Really bitter... either someone threw random left over juices together or the fruit they're using is awful. A shame really, because the place is actually nice and the staff are friendly enough.
Good location to have a big group for drinks, was able to book for a birthday a few weeks ago fairly last minute, for 30 people. Drinks are fair price and quick table service. Decent venue to watch sport as well although some tables may have views obscured by wiring. Food is a bit overpriced and also was insanely hot, needs a bit of AC or some fans during summer. I imagine it'll be nice and cosy in winter.
