Possibly one of the biggest proofs of a pub owner not caring about the locals I've ever seen, the new landlord hasn't a clue, if you want to watch sport I suggest you stay at home atleast there you can hear it as in here this fool wants music so loud half the pub has to crowd up one end with no seats to see and hear... He even admits he's not a sports fan which the pub thrives on
Nice pub with large outside area and seating. Unfortunately it faces the road junction. But it is a good space to sit. Very handy for the station. It has a good range of beers with 10% off for Camra members. When we were there they had run out of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Mind you it was a 30° day! The menu looks good but we popped in whilst waiting to pick up fish and chips from the Station Fish Bar.
Plenty of outside seating, food looked alright. Decent drink selection. Great for watching the boxing on the big screen.
I've randomly walked in here after getting a little stranded in Wokingham for an hour or two. It's cosy, staff are friendly, the locals seem nice but my football team is on the TV playing Reading (nearby) so I don't think I'll be making many friends 🙂 Happy with my choice for the time in here. Beer tastes good, but it always does after 5 hours on the road. No complaints.
We ended up having a quick pint in here as we had to wait a while for our train, this pub proved to be conveniently located as it's just seconds away from Wokingham station; guess it could be a good meeting point too. The clientele on the other hand seemed to look a bit rough and ready (swearing and boisterous behaviour!) so it's probably a place I'd go with the lads rather than with a lady!
