The pub is a former ferryman’s cottage in the picturesque village of Whitchurch on Thames, featuring low beams, a log fire and a small sheltered back garden.
Ideally situated for those making the most of the Thames Path, or cruising the river, we can offer the weary traveller a tasty and filling meal or light bite and a refreshing ale or soft drink to help them on their way.
We are also close to the mainline railway and there are bus stops in the village serving Reading and
the surrounding area. Children, dogs and their well behaved guardians are welcome (although we would ask that dogs please keep their owners on a lead).
Lovely proper pub. Always a friendly atmosphere and good beers
Cracking traditional village pub. Very friendly and serves good beer.
Great selection of beers, keg and cask. Big outside dressing area... really friendly land lady
I didn’t have food there but decided to stop for a drink on a beautiful hot day. A soft drink was £2 each. The interior was nicely decorated and was refreshingly cool. I decided to sit outside although the ambiance was more basic.
Was looking for a cozy pub with a fire, and this one didn’t disappoint. Nice mix of friendly locals. Bar staff friendly and good range of drinks. This pub has a different visiting food vans each night out the front, so you can buy there and eat inside. It was the pizza van when I went - really lovely home made pizza. Highly recommend this place.
