We had a table of 10. We were told when we booked we had the table from 12 to 2.30pm, which was no problem, however to be constantly reminded when we arrived, four times, was a bit much. We left at 2.10pm. Requested a high chair, which was not at the table.we had to organize. Your fish is always good, however your roast meat not great Cauliflower lovely. Children's playground sealed up.

I have been coming to Heron on The Ford for many years, as it’s my local & it’s situated in a beautiful location right by a Ford. We always walk to the pub as it’s only 15minutes away. Great for kids to use their chosen mode of transport for the short distance as the roads around the pub location is fairly quite. Heron on the Ford has plenty of free parking to the rear as well as to the front. The rear parking area is gated with access only during opening hours. The pub upgraded the seating area to the rear including an added play area for the kids just over a year ago which makes this a key visit for me during the summer. Nothing beats a nice cold beer outside in the sunshine with the little ones happily playing along in the gated playground 👌 The inside is has a cosy and relaxed atmosphere with very nice touch to the decor. The food is brilliant, quick service and tastes lovely. The change of hands a few years ago has defiantly made an impact to quality of food served Good clean facilities also. Highly recommend a visit as after the food and drink a nice walk to the Ford to watch any brave drivers spear through the stream is always fun to watch.

Been trying to get here to try the food for a while and finally made it this weekend for lunch on Saturday. Really nice atmosphere and friendly welcome, normal menu had plenty of choice but the specials menu was really good. The smoked salmon scotch egg was amazing!! Had a really lovely meal for two, service was good and for a good price. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

This is a very very nice place. The food is fantastic, and there is real ale on tap (kept very well, by the way. Not overly expensive. Attentive table service. Highly recommended.

Pretty disappointing experience at the Heron last night. Was told scotch egg was off menu but everything else was on. Ordered and then told items were gone (3 times). Took ages to get starters Bao buns were okay. One main cancelled at last minute. A meal inedible (see picture) and all they offered was to take that meal off the bill (which wasn’t even eaten!). Feel sorry for the amazing bar staff who tried to deliver food service. Managers were pretty combative. Go here loads for drinks on dog walks but this was first time for food, not again! Go for a drink not food..
