We had great experience at Toby Carvery Newbury, Jacob was very accommodating and friendly, finding us a table for 12 people at short notice. Maureen was very friendly and helpful as well. The food was very good and we would definitely come back.
The front of house were quick in seating us, the service for drinks were incredibly slow and staff tried attempting to clean the table we were sat at before we was ready to even leave! Was not checked on and wasn't offered to see if we wanted dessert. Waiting a considerable time before bill was finally presented to us. Carrots undercooked massively and mac cheese had hard crispy pasta with very little taste. Meats were all nicely cooked, roast potatoes perfect! I do believe they was under new management and were very under staffed was all seated in one area which made it feel cramped was told they wasn't willing to sit people anywhere else due to short staff which was understandable
Had a great time here. Went for works Christmas dinner. Was good as no messing about trying to remember everyone’s individual orders. Food was great. I think they were a little under staffed on the day we were there but everything went smoothly and everyone got the food and drink they wanted.
First visit, good food, peas were a bit solid , but everything else was great. Staff seemed few and rushed but otherwise helpful. Both on the floor and behind the carvery counter. Atmosphere was good although it was a Wednesday midday. All in all a good visit Thanks
Lovely choice of breakfast items , including Yorkshire pudding, nicely prepared and presented at a bargainous price
