Best Pint of Guiness I've had in a long time. Friendly Landlady
Driven past lots of times and always thought it looked like a proper drinkers pub! Decided to call in today and have a look! Unfortunately, it was very disappointing! The landlady was watching tv with a couple of locals and we took our drinks into a very tired and unkempt beer garden. The beer was not great so all in all not worth another visit!
Fabulous wee pub with fabulous friendly staff. Best thing that the Landlady is from the Home Country and even better that the young lady is from Co.Donegal. From when you walk in your met with a friendly atmosphere and friendly locals as well as staff. I'm a long distance truck driver who has a very rare chance to try the local social places, but this is now at the top places to revisit if I ever get a chance in the future. Here are a great bunch of locals who love their community and look after each other and those locally who cannot. I watched two good young fellas help and watch over a pensioner to make sure he left the pub ok and was sat in his mobility scooter safe, well and warm for his short trip home. These fellas make you feel proud of proper community pubs that look after their customers and staff.
It's a locals pub with friendly staff but no food and not a great selection of beers (certainly of you don't like commercial lager!). Still, a decent (If a little unkempt) beer garden which is (delightfully) usually quiet. Still, I'm local to it so not complaining!
Irish pub with the friendliest bar staff ever - Brenda (landlady) is a gem - always make you feel welcome. Although they do not serve food as a standard, on big game days she will do Irish stew! Drinks are reasonably priced - would definitely recommend
