Bel & The Dragon Cookham is one of the oldest coaching inns in England and sits on the village’s picture postcard high street.
A short stroll from the Thames path, this country inn combines 600 years of history with the best in modern British cuisine. Following extensive renovation in 2010, Bel & The Dragon Cookham offers five beautiful en-suite bedrooms in addition to an attractive, spacious restaurant & cosy bar area. Our large terrace, with children’s play area and outside seating, offers a great place to relax on lazy summer afternoons.
Our cosy bar and snug area is the perfect place to relax with a pint of local ale or a glass of wine with friends. In the winter, snuggle up in front of the fire and while away a few hours. Enjoy food from our bar menu in a friendly, relaxed environment.
Group head chef Ronnie Kimbugwe has created a series of menus full of twists on an array of classic British dishes, with a focus on local, sustainable and, above all, quality ingredients. The restaurant with its open kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, adding a touch of culinary theatre to the dining experience.

Very disappointed with the food. My Ravioli was and not cooked well lacked any flavour. My partners beef roast was also poorly cooked. The roast potatoes tasted as though they’d been reheated. The service was good but we won’t be going back for food anytime soon.
Visited the pub just before Christmas and food was delicious especially the Christmas pudding. On the next visit food was not as good as usual. Service is great, very friendly staff. Very attentive.
Took my Business here for our Christmas Dinner night out, food was very tasty and no complaints from any one on our table. Service was attentive. Well done Bel & Dragon, it's not an easy night when so many people in the restaurant but you pulled it off without fault. Thank you and a very Merry Christmas from Maidenhead Self Store.
Fantastic Pub and Restaurant in the heart of Cookham. Lovely cozy atmosphere and super Christmassy decorations. We were welcomed by the staff and the manager accommodated us even if it was 5 of us instead of 3. We all went for Sunday Roast, food was served in 20/25 minutes ( it was extremely busy) and it was good, well presented and well cooked. Fantastic selection of wines as well, we opted for Argentinian Malbec. Nice and efficient service, we will certainly come back!
We had a wonderful meal here on Monday night. I enjoyed the moules as a starter and the pork as a main. My sister had the beetroot and plaice. All were excellent. The service here was promt and attentive. I look forward to visiting again!
