The Borough Arms is a friendly neighbourhood pub in the historic market town of Hungerford, frequented by locals and visitors alike. It’s deceptively spacious inside with comfortable seating for you to relax and enjoy your favourite tipple or meal.
Having had a long overdue refurbishment in November 2017, the new interior design and décor has given this old boozer a well-needed facelift, making it a pleasant space to spend your time whilst maintaining its character.
Your landlady Sylvi Giuliani is originally from South Africa but has made Hungerford her home for the last 12 years. She is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, comfortable place for you to spend your precious downtime, and brings a touch of her native South Africa to the pub. She’s committed to serving great quality beers and ciders on tap, and carries four Wadworth ales.
Situated at the top of the High Street, we’re the first pub as you enter the town, and the last as you walk up the road. Whichever way you’re headed, do pop in and say hi!.

Used to be my local around 10 years ago, recently moved back to town and glad to see that the atmosphere hasn't really changed. The decor has been updated and deservedly so, but the people are as hospitable as ever.
Great pub in Hungerford.Superb service. It was far better than the football.Being Harrow Borough supporters this pub was a must for us.It didn't disappoint.
Fab little local pub - friendly busy atmosphere, great beer. Huge beer garden!
Friendly local is smarter inside than it appears from the exterior. Wadsworth ales in good condition.
SYLVI’S bar!!!!! We went there to a Drag Night, really looking forward to it too. We were there by 7.30 and got a table, most were reserved but this table did not have a reservation note on it. But we were rudely told to move by the manager/landlady. Then we sat somewhere else, without a reservation note and were told to move again. There was no where to sit, the landlady/manager was so rude and ignorant when she told us to move. We decided to leave. Safe to say that’s one pub we will never go into again. Appalling attitude to new customers. Did not feel welcome just felt in the way and surplus to other customers. One of us over 70 years of age, one of us over 60 years of age and one who recently recovered from a heart attack …. All of us told to ‘move’!!!!! ************************************** Then she lies in her response saying we were sat at the table whilst the people who reserved the table were at the bar!!! What an absolute lie … we were sat there an hour before they even appeared and there was 2 tables with 1 reservation card on 1 of them. Just goes to prove how we were treated, lying about us, which made us look bad!!!! Obviously just out to look after her customers and not any others!!! So annoying when people lie to make their side of the story sound good!!!
