Came here a couple nights whilst away on my own for work. Really polite, friendly and attentive staff, particularly restaurant side a young man and lady with glasses. Food was great, really nice atmosphere and decor. Will definitely come again!

Enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch in the pub on Christmas Day. Person with limited mobility and large dog both accommodated for really well. The dog was spoilt, receiving her own plate of turkey. The lunch was fantastic - huge portions and extremely tasty. Very glad to have booked - it suited us perfectly. Thank you!

Went for lunch today with a client. First time I’ve been and will be definitely going back. Lovely and spacious inside and nice cosy fire. Good menu and reasonably priced. Did have a table booked for 12 and had to wait a few minutes before anyone greeted/served me but won’t take marks off for that. Thanks!

Our first visit to what looked like a delightful pub. Our table was booked for 19:45 (a change made earlier in the day). At 19:46 we were phoned to ask if we were still coming! I understood why when we arrived a few minutes later - the staff had seemingly very little else to do. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Chloe whose second day it was. She set a very high standard indeed and it would be worth revisiting simply to be served by her. We were surprised to see the place rather short of customers, with staff almost tripping over one another trying to find something to do. There was no bitter on tap and a number of menu items were not available, including basic items such as steaks. We were told there was not a single one to be had! The food we were able to order was delicious, well prepared and presented. On balance it was a bit of a disappointing experience I’m sad to say and I could see why there were so many empty tables, especially on a Friday evening. I felt for the staff who were put in the difficult situation of not being to offer a full menu on a peak dining night. I hope that whatever the behind the scenes issues (staffing; brewery; management?) were resolved quickly so that a full and proper offering was available to others. On the basis of what we ate it is worth visiting!
