The pub was busy and a roaring fire welcomed us. Staff friendly and helpful, the pub has a thriving Indian restaurant within. Although we didn't have time to dine, we did enjoy a well kept beer and intend to return. Unusual setting for a beer and curry but for a Tuesday night in mid winter proving a popular venue. Left, armed with takeaway menus !

Great food and great service. First time at pub and landlord and locals very welcoming. Let me try a taster of the local beer before deciding.

Lovely bar with great staff - thanks for a good afternoon avoiding the rain and drying off after a long bike ride. The curry was also lovely, taking Jay's suggestion of one of the specials and thoroughly enjoying it. Will be back again some day.

One of the best takeaways that I have had for a very long time. I had the medium chicken curry. Good heat and very tasty. Perfect

Amazing little spot in Avening. One of just a couple options around if you’re without a car but definitely worth a visit. The Curries were some of the best I’ve had and the bar staff as well as the locals were quite friendly. We came to watch the England/Scotland Euro match and they just scooted over to make space for us. Oddly enough one of the cleanest and overall nicest ladies toilets! 🚽
