Came for festive family lunch pre booked. Service was okay but food quality poor. The festive lunch was lack lustre lacking in freshness and for £24.50 per head not great value. The other two meals from the standard menu were pretty awful. Being a get together we ploughed on but would not eat here again, food is obviously pre cooked reheated and not value for money. Regional management should book and eat here under cover they’d not be happy. The GK policy of not serving anyone under 18 with alcohol whilst eating is a new one on and us and since our grandaughter is 16 and in our care we thought was a little harsh but respect the rules - but that is not UK GOV Law, it’s GK LAW!

If this review was being written by our dog it would be a solid 5 stars as he had a great experience. . But it’s not being written by him so here is my review. We have eaten here a few times and have had very mixed experiences, sometimes good and sometimes not so good but today we had family stopping and we were all craving a nice Sunday roast. We arrived and were seated at our table, the staff seemed quite stressed and were not very attentive but eventually got our order in. When the food arrived they had forgotten to put the order through for one of the meals so my other half had to eat separately from the rest of us. The three of us that did get food had to put up with a cold dinner that was mediocre at best. Some of the veg was sloppy and over cooked and other parts ( the roast veg) was undercooked. Two of the dinners were missing key ingredients and the Yorkshire puddings were possibly the worst we have ever had. The service was quite terrible too. The dog however had the best day ever as he got a plateful of fatty meat cold veg and some sloppy yorkies. If it was cheap this could all be forgiven but at £16 for a roast of this quality is unacceptable. A note to the management:- please sort your act out guys this is a lovely pub but putting food out at this standard at these prices is simply shocking. We shall not be eating here again.

We live in Tewkesbury so didn't need accommodation but we decided to try the Bell Hotel for a meal to celebrate our anniversary and we were so pleased we did. On arrival we received a warm friendly greeting by Lucy who looked after us extremely well all evening. The table had been decorated very prettily and Lucy was lovely, a real asset to the hotel. The food was really nice and plenty of it. I have also had a few breakfasts there with friends and they are also very good. We will certainly be back. Thank you Lucy, Beth and the Bell for a lovely evening.

Stayed 2 nights, all the staff were very good, Yasmin our breakfast waitress was superb, super helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I was in a party of 6 staying at the Bell, we requested our breakfast to be packed as a sandwich so we could take away, 5 minutes later piping hot wrapped in foil ready to go, thank you so much. Food was good value, enjoyed our dinner, good location, room was functional for our needs.

Popped in for a quick drink so can’t speak for the hotel side of things.Disconcertingly, we were told that if we wanted food we better book a table as the would be treated secondary to any guests in the hotel rather than just like a normal restaurant. After this depressing welcome, we wandered over to a wobbly table and two chairs with torn material, although others seemed to be in better condition, with our drinks My wife’s IPA tasted like liquid furniture polish and my pint of Abbot was just OK. We left quite quickly after this and would not recommend.
