The perfect place for a break from the M5, this well run pub has a cosy bar where chatty locals are served by neatly dressed courteous staff. Enville Ale, Otter Bitter, Timothy Taylors Landlord, and Wye Valley HPA on handpump and 12 wines by the glass. The four attractively decorated dining rooms (with a choice of carpet, bare boards, lino or nice old quarry tiles) have a variety of moods, from snug and chatty to bright and airy; background music. Décor includes theatrical engravings on red walls, nice sporting prints on pale green walls, and racing and gundog pictures above a black panelled dado; most rooms have coal fires. The lovely garden has a spacious lawn, and the terrace offers pleasant views. This is sister pub to the Chequers at Cutnall Green.
Ooo....My burger was ACE! 😋 Cheers chaps n chapesses...Yet another lovely social xxx
Great that it's open once again. We had a lovely lunch and will be back soon!
Went here last night for my dad's birthday meal. Wasn't blown away by the menu, no chicken options, and they didn't have certain items on the menu. The starters were amazing and very tasty (and the pork belly bites) 😋 however our main was cold and bland, the tagliatelle dish did not work (lobster and rabbit) and just tasted like cold pasta in a broth. To top it off the waitress accidentally knocked over the glass of wine I ordered onto my boyfriends head! Overall we felt abit disappointed as last time we came we had a great experience.
Genuinely one of the best roast dinners I’ve eaten out ever. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, including for a baby of 1 and the food was incredible. Pictured is the Pork Belly Roast and there are amazing sides to add. Ask for extra gravy, you’ll want it because it tastes so good! Highly recommend for family or friends getting together. Lovely atmosphere with smaller rooms for an intimate dining experience.
My new "local" great choice of beers wines and spirits. Nice and friendly village pub. Great to sit down and have a drink with the log burner. Great food nice selection something for everyone on the menu. Food fresh, cooked to order really tasted amazing. Service was attentive and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
