Nice looking building with a very sizable footprint. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of dogs in when we were there which I have no issue with as I love dogs, though two were having a bit if a go at each other. Staff were really friendly and helpful, I absolutely couldn't fault them. The only real disappointment here was the food. It was average at best and overpriced. Whilst the prices weren't extortionate, they were definitely overpriced in comparison to what I get get for the same price at a local non-chain pub. £15 for a small pie and a handful of chips seemed very poor value in comparison with ... well pretty much any other pub I have been in. Shame, but I don't think I'll eat here again as nice as the bar and the staff are.
Came to visit family from York and we were recommended this place. There was 16 of us and were going to get some food. However a member of staff which I think was a manager was extremely rude to us. We decided we were not even going to waste our money on drink in there. Perhaps better customer service is needed and you may get better reviews.
So after arriving I was told the table I'd booked 2 hours prior wasn't available as the restaurant area was closed, not the end of the world but slightly annoying. Ended up having to sit next to a table of unsupervised kids. Wait for the food was only around 20 minutes but the chicken burger I'd ordered had burnt batter, the chips looked anemic and the coleslaw was warm so who knows how long it was sat out. Table was sticky but this is pretty typical of Beefeater. I'd been avoiding it after staying next door but thought I'd give it a try on my last evening, this particular Beefeater is below par compared to others I've been too. Honestly you'd be better off at a Wetherspoons and spend half as much.
Was really nice the dinner at 21/09/2023 Ashley was amazing looking after us all the time making sure we didn’t need anything always with a smile on . Absolutely recommended Gus
I had a really bad day. And the employees Darcy, joey and paddy really made my day. They were the best customer service I've ever had. I felt welcomed into their cute family. What great bar staff, they were efficient and the time to talk to the customers and made you feel like family. The food was delicious. Brilliant staff. Love to stay and eat here again.
