Fantastic 😍 experience Stayed for 2 nights Lots of history 😀 fantastic staff very friendly and quick to serve you for food and drinks in the bars and function rooms. Grounds are beautiful massive garden lots to do locally - well bars, restaurants and historical buildings and architecture. Really nice relaxing parks and canal nearby I can't remember all the staff's names however Holly was a particularly helpful and friends member of the team. However that said they were all brilliant. The rooms are fitted with all the mod cons and a very comfortable bed. They are ultra clean and very warm. You may like us, need to switch off the radiators cause they get super toasty 😁 The only issue I would say was the flooring was very creaky 😂 No quiet trips to the loo 😉 However this is the charm of staying in a building built in the 1700s As for cost extremely reasonable for the area and breakfast is great too Full English plus continental Bottomless drinks and food It's a very interesting place to stay And there's even a book about the place by Alex Mettler which is a pretty interesting read we found in the hotel. I think it was called the Bedford - So famous place to stay Bonus 😂
Back in time in modern days. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, warm, and welcoming. Comfortable seating with great period decor makes this place just smashing. If in Tavistock, this is a place to come to for your crem tea.
A beautiful hotel with good size rooms. The car park can be full and isn't the easiest to get round when it is if you have a longer vehicle. Location is great and it's quiet. We didn't eat here but did use the bar which was really good. This is a perfect place for a romantic break.
Well I can't tell at all what it was like, we were due to to going to a function here, after booking flights, hairdressers and buying new outfits, the Bedford Hotel cancelled the hunt ball with less then 2 weeks to go, stating that they were getting problems from the hunt sabs, bearing in mind that they held our ball last year and their sister Hotel is hold a big hunt function in a few weeks, some of us are total flabbergasted at the way we have been treated and the money we are out of pocket. I will never use this place again, I will also recommend that all my friends and family stay well away.
Wonderful place. I have not stayed in the hotel but I have eaten here many times. The restaurant is pretty nice with good views over Tavistock church, however this hotel really excels in the bar areas in which the full menu I also served - wonderful leather/leatherette arm chairs, lovely traditional paintings in the wall etc. The menu is solid, the mains are tasty, i personally recommend the sausages and battered fish and treacle pie for dessert. I really love the ambiance and yes it's pricey but for an afternoon, it's highly recommended. I should also reference the excellent service. There was a delay in receiving my order and I was comped a tea. Really great proactive service.
