The Local for years now. Good vibes and atmosphere especially when the Arsenal play. Friendly people and a half decent hotel upstairs if ur looking for a cheapish room for the night or day.
Location wise - awesome - 30-40 minute walks to the more action packed areas. Hotel - normal bedrooms for when you knly need a place to sleep and shower. The noise was awfull due to lack of isolation, a little chair would have been a nice addition in the room. Sheetd were clean, carpet not so much and the lack of 1 time use slippers just doesn't make sense. Pub - live sports and drinks, what more do you need. 3/5 is a good rating for here, you pay cheap price and get what you paid for. Hygiene was good, have to mention.
I recently visited The Beaconsfield, a pub that also doubles as a hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon entering, I was immediately hit by an unpleasant smell that was reminiscent of a toilet. This was not the welcoming atmosphere I had hoped for. The ambiance was further dampened by the fact that the drinks were noticeably more expensive compared to other pubs in the area. On a positive note, The Beaconsfield does show live sports, which could be a draw for some patrons. However, this alone was not enough to salvage the overall experience. As for the hotel portion of The Beaconsfield, I cannot provide any insights as my visit was limited to the pub only. In conclusion, my visit to The Beaconsfield was disappointing. The unwelcoming atmosphere and high drink prices significantly detracted from the experience, earning it a rating of 2 out of 5 stars.
I used this place for work last week and am staying for two nights again next week. For its price point, it’s good. The location right on Green Lanes is unbeatable. The bathroom is a bit smelly and cramped but it’s clean for the most part. Staff are friendly too. Recent reviews are claiming bedbugs but I didn’t spot any.
Just to be clear I don't give low ratings often. I do want to see small businesses thrive. The first time I stayed there, there were fleas and I was unable to get a refund. I was forgiving because sometimes those things happens. This was the second time I've stayed there and I simply cannot forgive bed bugs. The attitude of the manger who refused the refund this time was utterly disgraceful. This is a health hazard that ought to be reported to health inspection authorities.
