For the second year running, a group of 20 members of Hexagon theatre company gathered in the conference room at The Beacon for their annual Christmas get-together. And once again, the staff did us proud. Great food, good service, and a very reasonable price. I can definitely recommend: the Prawns: crisp and light coating with a dip that complimented them perfectly. Lamb Shank: fell off the bone, served with a wide selection of vegetables, sauces, and gravy, all cooked and served well. And finally, the sweet was "to die for " pictured The Pavlova,
Stayed overnight with my infant son and wife, and they accommodated a larger room in which we could fit our travel cot. Welcome on check-in was efficient, warm, and friendly. Rooms are fine for what you pay. The trains can be heard quite clearly from your room, so if you're a light sleeper, I'd bear this in mind. Breakfast was expensive and not great quality. Staff working in the morning were not present and wearing dirty casual clothes. Interactions were fine, but it seemed like the staff on the breakfast shift didn't really care.
We went for Sunday lunch. We were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. The Sunday lunch roast dinner was fabulous. So delicious and beautifully cooked. I couldn't eat all of it but was able to take away. Dessert was also lovely. I highly recommend The Beacon Inn. Will definitely go back.
Stayed overnight here as we were down for r.i.a.t. the following day.Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. Room was spacious and beds were comfy. Ate here in the evening, food was delicious and staff again couldn't do enough to help . Lovely little place
Exactly as stated. The hotel is on a train line so you do hear the trains. Beds are a little uncomfortable but for the price we paid we didn't expect to have such great service. Everything we needed was there for a quick overnight stop. Hosts were lovely and the place was very clean
