About us

The Bay Horse Inn is a traditional family-run old English Inn that dates back to the 17th century, with log fires and beamed bar/dining areas.

We are open 7 days a week from 12 noon and open at weekends for breakfast.

Opening Times are:

Monday to Thursday 12 noon to 10.30pm (Food served 12 noon to 8pm)

Friday and Saturday 12noon to 11pm (Food served 12 noon to 9pm)

Sunday 12 noon to 8pm (food served until 6pm)

Weekend breakfast times are 8am to 10.30am

The Bay Horse Inn serves a variety of homemade meals daily as well as a traditional Sunday lunch, with high-quality meat, locally supplied and reared within 5 miles of the inn. A fully cooked English breakfast is served daily. The cosy wood-beamed bar offers a range of cask-conditioned real ales, good quality wines and spirits, as well as tea and coffee.

Loved it. Accommodation was small but very clean, warm and well appointed. Pub, food and staff were really good although menu was limited. Not bad value overall.

Called in on the way to York for some food but unfortunately they weren't serving. The place was very busy for a pub that seems pretty out the way. Staff were friendly and the place had a good vibe about it. Would definitely return if the opportunity arose.

Great little place and well worth either visiting or staying. Booked a room for the weekend; staff, service, atmosphere we're excellent and the locals really welcoming. The rooms are really clean and well kept. Look forward to staying again.

Never stayed at an Inn before would definitely recommend. We stayed for one night, 16-17th Oct. The staff are nice and polite. We had a double room that had been refurbished to a very good standard and quality. The bed was clean and very comfortable, the bathroom very clean and well maintained and an information pack in the room about what you can do in Yorkshire. Overall a very nice Inn, good staff, with quality room's, if you choose to stay.

Great food service a bit rushed kept pushing to go to table but before our booked time we did go 5 mins before our time and before all our guests had arrived as they said they were busy but a lot of empty tables around even when we left
