A real gem of a pub , like a throwback to the 1970s friendly landlord good range of spirits and gin, reasonably priced beer too . Not for all tastes but a favourite of mine
Always enjoy visiting this pub. I like the style and the atmosphere, not to mention, the beer is fantastic too. The Landlord and Lady have been given some bad press for not allowing bad language, but I like that. It's very similar to a Sam Smiths pub. Homely.
Called in for a drink recently and my husband was ‘told off’ (by the landlady I’m assuming) for swearing!!! They even have a sign up stating that you may be asked to leave if you swear! Wow, it’s fantastic when you can pick and choose your customers in the current climate! Not surprised we were the only ones in there! How utterly ridiculous to ask adults not to swear! Laughable really! Definitely won’t be returning! Shame though because it was a lovely little pub!
Signs everywhere stating seating is for customers who have purchased food and/or drink. Went in and ordered a drink. Then asked for a menu. Was told they only do food on Friday and Saturday, and then it's sandwiches. My question is, if you can do it Friday and Saturday, why can't you do it all week? Sandwiches are fine, but only 2 days per week probably isn't
Hidden gem! Traditional pub with excellent beer and friendly and welcoming landlord / landlady. Put on free haggis supper for burns night, and on other occasions are happy for you to bring your own takeaway food in to eat with your pint, as they don't serve food. Cash only.
