Really enjoyed our food here over the Bank Holiday weekend. We wanted a pub walkable from our Airbnb cottage and found this place. Its not posh , and isn't trying to be anything other than an honest little local . I had the fish pie and it was just so tasty and full of fish in a lovely sauce . The young lady who served us was just delightful and the beer was good .
Lovely, welcoming pub with great food. They have a new chef who started in March 2023. Had a lovely hot roast beef sandwich for lunch which came on fresh, home-baked bread and with a delightful salad. Excellent value. They had some lovely cakes too which are available all day with teas and coffees. The pub is surrounded by amazing countryside, so it's ideal for a pit stop on your walk and your dogs are well catered for too.
Working in Shipley and staying near cowling. All I can say is ……..WHAT A PUB! Great owner/landlady, Amazingly kept Timothy Taylor and I even got a free bowl of a lovely stew! This is what a British pub should be like! Wish I lived closer
Great pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere, plenty of character and a pool table to boot! Good selection of lagers and ales, I went for my usual Carling. Could only stop in for one as we were passing through on business. Would highly recommend
Met the family for lunch on Xmas Eve. As usual the pub was warm and clean and friendly and the welcome was heartfelt and genuine. There is always an excellent choice of local and guest ales and very well priced food cooked to order. And the views are to die for.
