All good! First time here despite it being almost around the corner for us. Decided to come after colleague thoroughly recommended it! Well, I need to thank her! Food is absolutely divine. We had: Starters: Fish soup - tasted like mackerel or sardines. I’m a fan although my son and husband aren’t because it’s too fishy for them. It’s yummy for me! Baked chestnut mushrooms - delish Muscat Pumpkin risotto - warm your cockles! Mains: Steak - cooked to perfection as requested (although they don’t cook rare just medium rare onwards) Sea bass - divine!! Duck leg, dauphinoise potatoes - potatoes are divine. Duck leg is slow-cooked whip means it was a bit just so-so. But that’s just me. But still delicious! I would also recommend the apple and ginger mocktail as it’s super refreshing. Cost - quite standard for gastropub. It is worth what you pay for. Location - great for locals and you’ll need a car. Nothing really interesting around it. You can bring your dog in to the pub bit. Saw a few. If you have allergies it might not be for you. There is outside seating as well. Service - gentleman in charge looked a bit cold but he sorted us out with the bill and was lovely if you speak to him. So don’t be put off. It was also super busy. All the other youthful staff are much more engaging and professional than a lot of others in other establishment (like the Oatlands Chaser we went to a few nights ago) so well done to the team!! 🙌 Do I recommend? Yes - and I would come back again especially if on the way to or back from Saville Gardens/Windsor Park.

Fantastic atmosphere, party of 6, went for dinner, first meal in England in over 7 years, I miss the English pub. No reservation but told wait was 30 mins, seated in less than 10, menu was great, only trouble is that they has ran out of pies and sausages, ended up going with the duck with chorizo cassolet, was delicious. great selection of ales which I miss. Service was prompt and professional. Look forward to going back next time I'm home in UK.

Visited The Barley Mow on Saturday evening, table booked for 5pm. Not busy when we arrived but it filled up quickly. Couldn't fault the service and the food was excellent for a chain pub. The trout was delicious, the lamb perfectly cooked and seasoned and my kids loved the burgers - not huge but thick, nice and pink and didn't fall apart which was a hit with my youngest. Really, absolutely nothing I can criticise. Very good all round.

Warm and friendly atmosphere with freshly prepared food that is made with quality produce. 😋. The cheese souffle was as light as a feather 🪶 The service is kind and considerate. A good beer selection and a comprehensive wine list to choose from.

Great Sunday roast. Fine quality beef with a generous portion and bottomless vegetables and gravy. Service - only four stars due to very inexperienced server, third shift and change of staff during our lunch which meant I had to ask for things a couple of times. All staff very professional and polite on a busy, hot, Sunday. Atmosphere - only four stars because of inconsistent temperature. It was a fabulously hot day but it did feel like someone was turning the air-conditioning on and off a couple of times. Be careful with the contact number in the reservation email - for some freaky reason we managed to use it to bypass all phones and get straight to the chef in the kitchen who was very confused. Overall, recommended. Lovely location. Great food and service. Do make sure to book.
