Our interior has been inspired by childhood memories hillwalking
throughout Scotland, which has been interpreted, designed and transformed into an unique bar, restaurant and alfresco dining experience.
The Brae's cuisine has an emphasis on simple traditional recipes made with only freshest seasonal produce. Our chefs have a great passion for authentic fresh Scottish food. They take pride in supporting and using local produce to create that tasty local flavours.
Our Scotch beef from Linlithgow, fresh fish and shellfish is delivered daily from the west coast waters, game in season from local shoots, vegetables and herbs grown from local farms, plus an abundance of fresh fruit from around the world. Every dish is freshly prepared with that extra touch of flair.
It is our aim to offer a relaxing place where discerning patrons know they will always find the best of everything, presented with that extra touch of thoughtfulness and flair, by staff able to anticipate each guest’s unspoken wish.

I love this place. Always attend the quiz night and have a meal in the restaurant first. However I have to say the manager on my last visit was very rude, gave our booth to another group of people. Even tho you can pre request the seats. That was really NOT the issue it was his manner, arguing with us, loudly In front of a busy restaurant. I was shocked to learn he was the manager. Do yourself a favour and get someone that deserves to be in this position.. because the braes is a brilliant place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere ..
The food was good but high priced for the portion at the main course, but the starter size was great, but limited dessert choice, a reasonable cocktail and drinks menu excluding soft drinks £2-4 for a soft drink
The Brae "is trying" ... quiz nights, steak nights, burger nights, and live music 🎶 and more power to them ..... however, ..... the majority of the time we visit for lunch. This has been problematic to be fair .... on one occasion a tray of drinks was accidentally dropped on our guests and table, ( but everything was sorted !! ) , on another occasion we were forgotten all together !! ( we weren't very impressed that day ) ... recently we visited with another guest, and anticipation was high. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, but the entire meal ( lunch ) took nearly 3 hours ... blamed on new staff. I must admit the food is generally nice, the prices are pretty good, ... the only thing letting the place down was the service. ( but again, we've recommended the Brae to various people, and they've enjoyed their visits .... I wonder if 'we've' just been unlucky 🤔 )
Stayed local Hotel last week for two nights and booked meals here for both nights. Great choice. Restaurant welcoming and staff friendly, attentive and on the ball. Not a big menu but food was excellent. Cocktails good too would def recommend x
Went here for a quick bite to eat with my wife. I have always found the bar an alright place to have an occasional drink. Staff are always pleasant and help. The bar are is well maintained. I wasn't sure what expect from the food its a small menu to choose from but food came out piping hot. Perfectly made. Will certainly be back again.
