First time playing there a really good experience..enjoyed it.
Being a lass brought up in Girvan, I love Ayr and Ayrshire in general. I also love the game of bowls and was lucky to take part again in this years finals. I'm afraid that once again I was hugely disappointed with the greens, especially green B which just should not be considered playable at this level. Suited more for those who play 10 pin bowling than lawn bowling! AWFUL. The amenities: catering, parking, shuttle buses, toilets etc were good. All the volunteers, umpires and organisers were brilliant. Well done guys and gals.
Monday was a great day and will be down on Wednesday And doing volunteer work on Thursday Friday Saturday morning
The Greens, which are kept by Bowls Scotland in July looked like my own green back at Opening Day in April. The greens are not in great condition, slow paced by the bowlers' opinion, and they're very bumpy. I wouldn't be looking forward to playing the Scottish National Championships from July 23rd, that is for sure!
Great time here facilities good however the greens owned by Council were a disgrace never seen holes being filled in with sand before a match. They looked like they had not seen a drop of water for weeks
