Great Sunday roasts too be had. Selection of up to 6 different meats. Lots of veg and ample sized gravy jug. Dessert was a gorgeous chocolate sponge covered in chocolate sauce and a side of ice cream (you have options for cream, custard or ice cream)
Marvellous food and a great choice of drinks. Lovely service and amazing Christmas decorations! Consistently great service each time we go there. The kids love the food too! Desserts are 😋😋 delicious! Well worth it and always looked after by the staff there.
We have eaten at the Wagon weekly for the last 6 months, and spend most Sunday Evenings there playing Bingo. Dan, James and every single staff member are attentive, kind, thoughtful and helpful. James’ food is the exact kind of food you want to eat in a local village pub - freshly made and delicious. James’ salad is my favourite thing to eat, closely followed by the Orange sponge! We honestly couldn’t ask for a better local pub, Dan and James have made it into a real community pub where it’s a joy to spend time. Its dog and child friendly, and really well set out so you can have a quiet meal or a chat with the locals. It’s always busy, but all the staff take time to talk to you, and remember what drinks you like and even remember my food order! I would encourage everyone to try it out, especially at the moment where you can enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Keep doing exactly what you are doing Dan and James, because Chilcompton is a better village with The Somerset Wagon in it.
We have loved the Somerset Wagon ever since Dan and James took it over. I genuinely think it's the best it's been in the seven years we've lived in the village. It's so good to have such a great pub in the village. The place is always busy, which it wasn't with the previous owners. It has a friendly atmosphere now. The Christmas decorations made it feel even more cosy and welcoming. I had a lovely meal at lunchtime today, lovely like it always is. The menu is varied and always fresh and delicious. There is a good selection of beers, wines and ciders, and Zita is always friendly and attentive. Keep up the good work and ignore any negative reviews, as they are clearly in the minority. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Phoned up and booked a table after being let down elsewhere. They squeezed us in and I’m glad they did, food was lovely. Will be coming back 10/10
