Popular with locals and passing trade, we have two comfortable bars with low-beamed ceilings with an interesting collection of pub, brewery and local memorabilia and period dentist chairs. The building is grade II listed and according to Robert Millard of Hawkesbury Family History, dates back to 1602.
The stables dining area offers good value food. Added attractions include a pleasant garden, a skittle alley/function room with a glass covered well and popular pub games including cribbage, skittles and darts.

Proper old fashioned pub. Great & ever changing selection of real ale, always well kept. Menu of great value pub classics. Popular with walkers on Cotswold Way only a small detour (5 minutes). Dog friendly. Skittle alley. Pub memorabilia from local breweries. Good carparking.
Wouldn’t advise going here if you’re not local. A group of us went today and were not made to feel welcome. Didn’t have the food so can’t comment on that. Decent selection of hand pulled beers.

We were visiting the area and popped in for a drink and a meal. It felt like a great local pub. Friendly landlord and a good mix of people drinking and eating. There was a good range of beers and the food was good quality, typical pub menu.
Really friendly welcome, and despite the pandemic, a lovely crowd inside, with a nice atmosphere. Food was very reasonably priced, and good quality pub food. Waitress couldn’t do more to help, funny, engaging and helpful. A lot of effort has gone into making sure everyone is safe from Covid 19, clear signage, one way system, hand sanitiser stations, shame they have to close for November.
