Our jukebox is legendary in Edinburgh for having the best selection of metal, punk and goth music. Bands such as Alice In Chains, Black Flag, Danzig, Deftones, Kyuss, Mastodon, Nick Cave, Nitzer Ebb, Rage Against The Machine, Tiger Army and Tool make up the soundtrack to a stay in The Auld Hoose.
Children are not permitted on the premises at any time, and we don’t take reservations.
Quiz night is 8pm every Tuesday and we are dog friendly.
Oh yeah, students get a 10% discount on all food purchases!

We are very passionate about beer.
Brewdog’s Punk IPA, Goose Island IPA, FUBAR from Tiny Rebel, Blue Moon and West’s St Mungo are permanent fixtures on keg.
Our casks come from the likes of Alechemy, Bristol Beer Factory, Five Points, Marble, Moor, Siren, Stewart, Summer Wine, Tempest, Tiny Rebel and Weird Beard.

Traditional pub where there is a sufficient number and quality of beers to choose from. We tried their legendary nachos, which were a real taste experience and the portion was for two people and was beyond our capabilities. Unfortunately, we were not able to eat such a large and tasty portion. The guy behind the bar was nice and friendly. We highly recommend this place!!

Delicious food, great ale, lovely staff and location. We over ordered as the portions are a very good size. Next time we would probably share, but we were happy to try everything!
They say they have Legendary Nachos and they weren't wrong! They may be a little pricey at £18, but that's the price of two main meals and was definitely more than filling! A good selection of craft beers on tap, as well as more in cans and dog friendly too!
Great spot! The vegetarian nachos were awesome. We got the small ones, which were a hearty snack for 4, but they were so good we wished we had gotten the large. Also thoroughly enjoyed the onion rings — they were executed perfectly in that you could bite into them without pulling out the entire onion. Would def go back next time I’m in the area.
