For pub grub, the quality and choice is superb; including a delicious Sunday carvery and a daily offer on a range of meal types with a pint Mon to Thues, such as curry night, steak night etc. The staff are attentive, hard working and friendly. Atmosphere is a good mix of all ages, including families with younger children, groups of friends ranging from in their 20s through to 80s. Spacious seating too and the pub holds popular quizz and bingo nights. We'll worth a visit.
Stopped to ask direction as not from the area, and use the facilities. Ending up having some lunch and a drink as felt very welcome. Excellent bar staff, sandwiches and beer good too.
Absolutely dreadful place run by clueless kids. Waited almost an hour for food and when it arrived, the steak was cold. It's a very confused pub. They don't really know who their clientele are. They're trying to be a carvery, sports bar, party venue and events all going on at the same time. If you're looking for a good Sunday lunch in a quiet setting with good food and service, it's definitely not this place. It's tatty, run down, tired and unwelcoming.
I visited the Arrow on Friday with some friends. And the night was fantastic. The service was outstanding. Louise in particular stood out for me and catered to all our needs and really made the night perfect!! Would 100% recommend this pub!
I arrived just after Noon for a 1pm booking so sat at a table within sight of the big screen to watch cricket, having ordered a pint. As I neared the time of my booking I mentioned to the friendly bar staff that I had arrived early, gave my name, and asked if I could order food and, if possible, sit where I was currently as opposed to the allocated table out-of-range of the screens. No problem I was told, and sure enough it wasn't. I ordered my lunch, had another couple of pints, and then headed off to see my team Southend United play against local Yeovil in the FA Cup. Very friendly staff, good quality and affordable meal, clean and friendly surroundings and a nice pint. I will return. Thanks.
