About us

Clachaig Inn, Glencoe provides modern comfortable accommodation which is complemented with a traditional hearty Scottish breakfast – a really great way to start the day!

We have 3 bars in total, each with its own distinctive and lively character. Real ales, malt whisky, Scottish gins, good food and fresh coffee are served in all our bars – choose the atmosphere that suits you best. They are a great place to meet up, enjoy a meal, have a coffee, catch up with the craic, sample some real Scottish produce, dance to the music, chill out and relax and…, well, so much more. No wonder then they’ve been the focus of so many awards!

As well as a variety of Whats On we also have some great Whisky Tasting MasterClasses evenings and a chance to Meet The Brewer.

THE BOOTS BAR

Unique is the word that comes to mind. The huge dusty real fire set amidst log piles and rough slates on the floor provide an indication of what to expect. An old tree trunk which seems to be part of the structure and a huge bar top set on a long row of barrels give a few further clues.

THE SNUG

Originally the beer cellar, this cosy bar now provides a quiet annex to the Boots Bar. Slate floors, pine paneling and an old range set the rustic tone. When busy, the atmosphere of the neighbouring Boots Bar spills over but is toned down, and this bar proves popular with larger groups

THE BIDEAN LOUNGE

Grab one of our complimentary daily newspapers or outdoor magazines and take a seat on one of the comfy Chesterfield sofas and relax. The informal atmosphere is an ideal location in which to contemplate the view of the mighty West Face of Aonach Dubh through the window.

My favorite place in Scotland....... I live in New Zealand now, but every time I'm back in Scotland I stay at Clachaig Inn. The first time I stayed there was way back in the 90s, and I still love it. You walk outside and are surrounded by hills and nothing else...... my kind of place....

I would like to give this place a good rating if it wasn't for the bad fit of the doors of the rear bar. Any heat generated in the whole of the downstairs area is rapidly lost through the rear doors. They have a perfectly good porch on the rear door, which, if closed would solve some of the problem. Instead, it is always wedged open, and the inner swing doors have a large gap in the middle. Who wants to sit in a cold pub. Even the staff wear coats at times. It's not expensive or rocket science to fix the problem.

We are returning customers, we come here every few years so know what to expect. This review focuses on the accommodation as the bar and restaurant have been reviewed to death by others. The rooms are effectively wooden chalets connected to the main building, they are warm, clean and are provided with all of the usual hotel room facilities. The views from your room are breathtaking and Parking is available outside your room in some cases. Breakfast consists of either full Scottish, veggie option and/or continental. The full Scottish is huge, but obviously you can deselect as required. The staff are friendly and efficient, there were some new staff being trained whilst we were there but, the following day they were up to speed.

This is an amazing pub and restaurant in what is a phenomenally scenic location. I had a very tasty Black Pudding starter with the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties for the mains. I also has a great stout beer that seemed to be locally sourced. This place seems very popular with walkers and I can see why.

Been here 3 times. Parked up over the road for the night in a camper. Had a great night ordered a steak that was mostly fat and gristle but rest of the meal was good. Was really busy and live music by Shine were on which was great. The beers were brilliant and to finish with a few whiskies was brilliant the lady that served us was fantastic
