The Argyll Inn offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, great beer & food. We open for food Tues-Sat 1200-1400 & 1800-2100, 1200-1700 Sunday, no food Monday.
Had one drink in the two hours we were there. Couldn't get served. It was very busy and everyone was standing at the bar and not sitting on the seats.
Had a couple of pints in here whilst on a biking trip recently. Interior decor when you walk in feels pretty dated. Service was OK but noticed whilst waiting to be served for both drinks that locals were all served first despite not being first to the bar. The patrons mostly comprised of a group of noisy drunk youngsters and a couple of your typical surly looking old guys at the bar. As our short stay went on, unwanted interactions with the more drunk youngsters started to feel a bit more tense so we opted to head back to our tents instead. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this place based on our experience.
Only two hotels/pubs in lochgilphead. Both owned by the same person. Very poor selection of overpriced beers. Can't vouch for the hotel side but I sincerely hope its better than the bars.
Good fun old fashioned pub, comfy beds, good company. Staff were helpful, talkative and helped me find the best route to my destination the next day. Served food after the kitchen had closed as I arrived late. The only slight let down was the quality of the food, pretty basic, but still enjoyable. A good stay for the price.
My husband myself and our dog had a wonderful 2 nights stay here. The owners were very plesant and could not do enough for us. The place was very clean. And the breakfast was tremendous. Our dog e ven got her own sausage and bacon 😁. What more can you ask. We will be back for a longer stay next time .😁
