We were very excited to stay in this area, as we were going to catch the ferry the next morning. BIG MISTAKE. Staff is very rude, and not welcoming. We were in Room 1 and it had a very weird smell when we went in. Should have complained then, but did not. Room had so much potential as it was big, with a sitting area and great view. When we went to bed, found out that the bed was hard, and had sprung springs. No mattress pad, the sheet was directly on the mattress, and could read the mattress label through the sheet. Dust on the furniture, and mold on the walls. But the biggest thing is that when we took our showers the next morning, we found out that the water runs in around the tub surround and it extremally activated the mold smell. I physically got sick and had to get out of that room. My night wear from sleeping on that bed or room, smelled horrible. This place needs some serious upgrading. Breakfast was good. Location and parking are great. They are a mostly in the business for the their restaurant and pub. Spent way too much on this hole.
Make sure to get a reservation ahead as they have a small kitchen! Everything was delicious and the view was beautiful! (We didn’t stay here as they were fully booked) Staff were very accommodating and friendly through the whole meal.
Overnight stay 14 - 15 Sept 2023. Twin room with sea view and separate lounge area, very clean and good size for the price. Evening meal fast service and clearly popular place to eat, (not included in room rate). Only downside might be location for exploring Skye as it is South on Sleet peninsula but suited us as it is a very quiet location with beautiful sea views. Excellent value for money.
Went for a meal and had the fish and chips. Fish 5*, chips were 2* very average. On the thin side and not particularly impressive. It might be incredibly busy but booking a table here seems extremely difficult and the timings are inflexible - often you are offered 6pm earliest which leads me to wonder if certain times/tables are kept back……. The demand is clearly there for great meals but it feels like they’re not staffed up enough so the kitchen apparently can’t cope with a certain volume of orders.
Fantastic rooms, very comfortable. Lovely service and good food, but a limited choice. Fabulous location if you want to be away from it all, but a lot of Skye attractions require a fair bit of traveling.
