As a group of older folk we choose a bar once a month for a catch up, my friend choose this bar ! As we arrived my son was told to remove his cap, so his group left, although there was a guy sitting with a flat cap on. Not that deep, I get there the rules,then we were told to sit down all off our group hadn’t arrived yet, so we was not ready to,then we was told not to stand and block the door way ! We were no we’re near the door ! Never felt so unwelcome at a pub ever before, not great customer service clearly they don’t need the money which we are a group of 10 so would off spent a fair bit.Then the girl continues to tell all the other staff including the blonde hair lady,which this made us all feel so unwelcome, so we left after one drink and diverted the rest of our group to another bar. So no we will not be coming back
Customer service needs to improve. The short haired blonde lady manager came across rude and gave us the impression she didn't want our group there. There was also a dark haired man serving who needs to work on his customer service. Not one smile, no talking other than was necessary like "tap your card" etc not cheery or anything, just completely dull. The only nice member of staff was a young female with purple in her hair. Lovely polite cheery member of staff. I noticed that the pub was quite empty for a Saturday afternoon. It's in a great location so I can only presume it isn't that popular. Maybe due to the attitude of most of the staff? Our group was about 13 adults and we all had 2 if not 3 courses and drinks. They got a lot of money on our visit but it was quite clear the manager didn't like us there. So we definitely will not be going back.
A nice atmosphere, warm & welcoming. Getting drinks was not quick and ordering food took a while and nearly an hour to arrive for fairly simple foods. Nice for a drink & meet up but if you want food, make sure you have plenty of time.
We actually went for a Christmas day dinner. The menu initially looked nice but I didn't go with particularly high expectations, but how wrong I was. The dinner was absolutely beautiful, the staff were busy but also lovely, the setting was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much for having us! I'd definitely do it again next year.
We had our Christmas meal here today at The Ardleigh, lovely meal and drinks. We were served by Luke, who looked after us this evening. Luke was very charming, polite and professional with his customer service skills. A lovely Christmas atmosphere in the pub. Lovely Manager too. Definitely looking forward to our next meal here. We'll done team Ardleigh for organising Christmas Eve so well. Mr & Mrs P Browne.
