About us

The Barnes’ (Martin, Chris, & Steve) acquired the pub in January 2018, repositioning the Antrobus Arms as a destination dining venue.

We offer contemporary food menus, the best Sunday lunch in Cheshire, an extensive drinks list of fine wines, spirits, cocktails and local Cheshire beers. We’re open every day for dining and drinks in our relaxed bar, dining room or, if the weather allows, in our beer garden. We’re also dog friendly in the bar area, so you can bring the whole family.

Our location between Warrington and Northwich, with close proximity to the M56, makes us the ideal place to meet up for lunch, a relaxing drink, or to dine with friends and family.

Really gutted that the beef, despite being served medium, was really tough. The staff were lovely and did try to serve us fresh meat. Unfortunately this was also really tough. For the higher price point I would expect a chef to be able to get this right. I would return to try food from the regular menu, but would be nice to see the Sunday roast improved.

We stopped off here on our way back from holiday as we were still a couple of hours from home, didn't fancy a service station dinner and wanted somewhere that wasn't far from the M56. Upon arrival we were immediately seated in a corner with our border collie who was promptly provided with a water dish and pack of dog treats. The food was excellent, always nice to see a steak pie in a full pie crust (not just the lid) the staff were friendly, service was excellent and as an added bonus we were informed by another customer that it's a family-run business. Would definitely recommend.

Cannot fault it. Food is excellent. The rarebit pie is possibly the best pie I have ever had. Setting is lovely, a warm cosy pub but with a modern look. Great range of local real ales. The only thing better than the food is the service. All the waiting staff I have had when I have gone there have been excellent. Very attentive and welcoming. Best pub around and the 5 star service which unfortunately is rare these days. Bag of dog treats is a really nice touch too.

This place is an outstanding find! Picked at random as a halfway point to meet family and what a treat. The food was amazing and the staff beyond lovely! Also has a very dog friendly pub which is a rare find but they have a dedicated area for your furry friends! I’d highly recommend a visit and will in due course be visiting again! Thank you so much for your wonderful food and service!
