About us

Nothing beats the atmosphere of the pub, as a place to meet up and socialize with friends and family. There’s no better place to swap news, view sports events, have a drink and share a bite to eat in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Our aim is to make The Anchor great place full of character, lovely individual place to drink & a place for local people, businesses, families & tourists to meet and call their own.

The Anchor is unique, individually designed to suit the town and respecting pub’s history. Situated ten minutes walk west of the market town Tring centre this welcoming 100 years old pub, refurbished in 2012, has a spacious bar with tall tables in the two front bay windows, and more conventional seating at the rear.

Classic interior, cosy and inviting

The interior features lovely wooden floors, open fires, feature mirrors, pictures of local scenes and unusually, wine crate sides on one wall, TVs for sports viewing. The Anchor serves wide range of real ales including the local Tring Brewery and offers excellent food.

Nice pub. The Kronenberg has now been taken off, and replaced with Madri unfortunately. Nice bar Staff.

Friendly, basic boozer; relaxed and quiet atmosphere for a Friday and with a relatively decent selection of drinks. Furnishings and set up have improved since u first went in around 25 years ago, however still not "fantastic" by any standards. Neither quaint/rustic nor modern/cool, it's a pub perennially caught between the two worlds; ok to go watch the football at or before heading someplace else, yet not really worth a visit in its own right.
