We were away for a weekend break and we booked a table for two in advance. When we arrived the bartender addressed me as sir and said that he’d reserved a table for us by the fire, or we could sit in the main restaurant if we preferred. The food was absolutely banging and full of flavour. Our waitress, Ellie, who was only on her fifth shift was attentive, humorous and really made us feel special. We’ll defo be back to work our way through the entire menu.
Lovely food and atmosphere, we had the squid bites and halloumi for starters which were amazing, we had the brownie for pudding which is the best brownie I've ever eaten.
Sunday Roast undoubtedly is the long standing British Institution and my most favourite meal. I love traditional Sunday Roast at the Anchor Inn with choice of meat (chicken, beef, Turkey or combination of any two of your favourites), yummy vegetables and especially how they always prepare extra gravy for us without any alcohol in it on our request is great. ❤️❤️❤️
Food was great tasting, piping hot and well presented. My only gripe was being charged £3.60 for a pint of blackcurrant and soda ( I was driving) and my wife £2.70 for ½ a pint of the same as she doesn't drink alcohol. £6.30 for a pint and a half of soda water with a dash of blackcurrant cordial. This is ridiculous pricing of soft drinks. Soda water in pubs used to be free with just a nominal charge for the cordial in it. 😡
Popped in to the Anchor Inn as we had just visited Croome NT. The lady behind the bar was very polite and very friendly. We ordered Chef's pie and Hunters Chicken, both meals were very nice and well presented. The price was a little higher than we usually pay but was definitely worth it. Great service, we would recommend a visit here if you are passing through. Look out for the signs on the road through the village. Thanks for a lovely lunch.
