First time in this hostelry. Very friendly bar man John . Made us all very welcome and informed us of up and coming events . Very reasonably priced and very clean and friendly pub.
Always a warm welcome from the landlord at the Anchor. Great food and a wonderful menu full of choice, with a varied selection of specials and even take away pizza! Great drinks selection, ales and lagers. Good space, wonderful beer garden, nice street side tables. All in all the Anchor is everything a village pub should be.
All staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly during our 25th anniversary visit, although only a table for 5 adults and a dog, the meal was as ordered, hot and tasty and presentation very good, the staff couldn't do enough to make the evening enjoyable, thank you to all involved, really appreciated
Excellent Pub, Landlord A Real Character, Excellent Banter with Customers ,Regulars and Casual Alike. Very Welcoming Ambiance, Staff Were Efficient, Friendly and Helpful. Sunday Lunch was Exceptional, Very Generous Portions, Beautifully Presented. Large Car Park, Easy Access for Disabled Folk. Looking Forward to My Next Visit. Very Definitely Recommend. A Very Comfortable Place to Visit.
This pub was ridiculous! We went for my grandmother’s 80th birthday and we had booked it for 1pm - waited 20 mins to be even asked if we wanted a drink. We waited over an hour for our food, which came out cold. I sent mine back to be heated up. As we had waited over an hour for the food, everyone was so hungry, so started eating it. We asked to speak to the manager/chef and he came out all guns blazing! He was so rude! He came over and said we should have all complained that the food was cold or not complain at all. He was stood so intimidatingly at the end of the table and argued with us about the food. He was so rude to us, considering it was a special occasion. Definitely not going back and certainly don’t recommend it!
