The Anchor Inn is a friendly, family orientated 15th Century Inn that prides itself in providing a blend of traditional and contemporary pub cuisine. The pub offers a fantastic selection of locally sourced cask ales such as Larkins Traditional, brewed by Larkins brewery in Chiddingstone, Kent, and of course Harveys Sussex Best, brewed by Harveys brewey in Lewes, East Sussex. We also always have at least one local guest ale on at any one time and more in our busiest periods. We also have a range of popular lagers on draught and a broad selection choice of wines.
The pub is lucky enough to have two bars: our front bar is the hub of the local Hartfield community where you can find our friendly locals, young and old enjoying a pint and discussing tales of old and new. Our back bar provides a more intimate setting with inglenook fireplace and a small library area; very cosy in the winter months. Adjoining the bar is a spacious dining area that can cater for up to 40 people. This facility can also be booked for private events. Please contact us for more info.
The bottom bar is also now home to our 'Bread & Breakfast' Coffee Shop where we serve a selection of breakfasts as well as teas & coffees and fresh bread. Please click here for our 'Bread & Breakfast' Coffee Shop page for more information.
As well as great food and accommodation, The Anchor also provides regular entertainment nights including Live Bands (usually on the last Saturday of each month from 8.30pm), Themed Food Evenings and much more. For more information as to what's coming up soon then please click here.
With a great atmosphere for both locals and visitors alike and a fantastic location in the heart of AA Milne's Winnie the Pooh country, The Anchor is the perfect place to stop, either to enjoy a quick pint, to have a meal with the family or to even stay for a few days in the Bed & Breakfast.
