Absolutely wonderful pub... we had a variety of meals here whilst on a walking trip in the middle of January and morning, noon or night they were delicious. The staff are welcoming and very polite and really take pride in their service. Thoroughly recommend 👌

We are staying at a cottage in Beer and had a really delicious meal at The Anchor on Wednesday night. The service was attentive and funny and I was even given a separate Gluten free menu so knew exactly what I could order as a coeliac. We both had the Sea Bass & Scallop Risotto which was so tasty and I will definitely have it again next time we go. The strawberry Shortbread Cheesecake was delicious and very pretty!

Had a weekend here for my wife's birthday and I can't praise the staff enough. They really looked after so well. The room was lovely, the food was lovely but most of all the staff made it for us. Thanks Hannah, Sam and the rest of the staff you certainly all are a credit to what you do.

We stayed over here when visiting Hugh Fearnley Whitingstall's restaurant which is a short drive away. Great location and bar, the food looked great as well. Staff made us feel very welcome, our two small dogs ended up playing with a lovely German Shepherd dog in the bar area. I must admit I enjoyed the food at River Cottage, but would of preferred staying at the Anchor that night for more Beer and the fish & chips.

The rooms are spacious and are very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and all of the staff are accommodating and friendly. The view from our room was lovely. The food was hot, delicious and served pub style. I fancied scampi and chips but my wife had the sea bass risotto that was absolutely fantastic. Gordon Ramsay would have been proud. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Beer. Beer is a place that shuts down after 9pm and is really quiet for a great nights sleep. The perfect hotel for a quick getaway. We loved it.
