Visited the Anchor on a Monday evening for food. The manager was very helpful, the barstaff were lovely. I ordered the ranch chicken which arrived promptly, it was delicious and good value for money. I asked the manager to pass on my compliments to the chef, who then came out to thank me. The chef, Jamie, was very professional and lovely. Would definitely go back again and I can highly recommend this pub.

It was probably a bad day to visit as it was busy with football supporters, and it was mainly full of men. Football on everywhere. Limited menu due to the football, but the pizza was lovely, both mine, the pepperoni and my daughters cheese one. Chips were disappointing, going on the description on the menu. Bit tired of surroundings, but ok for a quick bite go eat

We pre booked a table here to watch the Lionesses in the World Cup final, we asked for a prime location seat and we certainly got one. Beer was good and atmosphere was great, Good value as well, Only downside was the cauliflower wings we had.. gosh they were horrendous and we didn’t really eat them. All the other food was great

The first time I came here was for the Women's England Football World Cup final. The atmosphere was good. I ordered a cordial with 2 orange juices and I remember it being expensive. Today I had a lemonade cordial which cost £4.10, very expensive in my opinion. The pub is based on Gloucester Road so the outside bit is quite noisy.

I went here for lunch today with my son and couldn't have wished for a better experience. The chap behind the bar was very friendly. We ordered our food and drink... I had southern fried chicken wrap and a (very) large hot chocolate and my son had the veggie all day breakfast and a pint of diet coke. There was some sort of lunch deal on and it came to around £14.60 which I thought was good. The food came out in roughly ten minutes and was amazing! There was a relaxed atmosphere here with soft music playing. Thete are various tv screens around showing sport but no volume. We had nearly opted for one of the trendy coffee shops down the Gloucester road but I'm so glad we decided on here. I'll definately go back. I'd like to try some of the big choice of ciders there too at some point. I was particularly impressed that they have a no straw rule reducing.plastic waste too. See my photos too ..
