We are hiring at The Alma, Sidcup
We need to balance out our female to male ratio, we only currently have 1 male! as I’m sure you’ll agree this needs to be more balanced for a pub and working environment.
We are looking for dynamic people to join The Alma family, the positions on offer are for evenings and weekends with most shifts being at the weekend, one position is for 30/35 hours a week, the other is for an average of 20 hours a week, you will also be required to work over the half terms, summer holidays and festive period, you must have a minimum of 1 years bar/pub experience, know how to serve a good gin, upselling drinks and food, be able to pull a decent pint of ale, as well as other beers, lagers and especially Guinness, gotta keep the customers happy. Also a good general knowledge of wines.
Cellar knowledge and expertise in maintaining a good clean standard of a cellar is paramount as is changing gas, beers and tapping ales also being able to move 11’s and 22’s as is following all health and safety and food hygiene procedures already in place, basically the basics of any job in a bar/pub. Must also have the ability to maintain the pubs standards of cleanliness.
But of course if you don’t have all of this then we can easily train you.
The job that needs filling will be available from now, good rates of pay, excellent working conditions, you’ll be looked after well and of course you’ll be joining a wonderful working family and a pub with soul at its heart.
A bit of banter goes a long way but without it being detrimental to your job. We are a strong locals/regulars pub and are wanting someone who can fit in nicely with this and is a hard worker.
Now for the important part, this is our business and we will not be held to ransom by staff members who join our team then start saying that they can’t work this and can’t work that, this is a job in a pub so you need to fully understand what hospitality is about and the sacrifices we all make, also that Mondays to Wednesday are our weekends lol if this job is not for you or you are going to mess us around then please save us the time and hassle and do not apply. Sorry that we have to say this but unfortunately this is what we have been having to deal with over the last 8 months, as have many other venues up and down the country and it’s not fair on the rest of the team who take pride in working in such an establishment.
