Set in the centre of the peaceful conservation village of Allanton, Berwickshire, The Allanton Inn is a charming coaching inn dating from the eighteenth century.
In 2010, William & Katrina Reynolds and their three young sons moved from Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders to take over and run the Allanton Inn. Katrina is delighted to return to the area where she grew up and her family have farmed for over 60 years.
Using their expertise from many years working in the hospitality industry and that of their dedicated team, William & Katrina have worked at transforming the inn to provide unparalleled hospitality and service in the Scottish Borders. A traditional dining pub, relaxed, friendly and professionally run, the inn welcomes locals, trade & business bookings, families, tourists and weekender’s alike.
Great care and pride are taken in all areas at The Allanton Inn to ensure the best Borders welcome and experience for all guests. The guests that come back time and time again and the positive online reviews reinforce the first class hospitality the inn endeavours to offer and is usually successfully achieving.
The inn offers informal dining in a modern, rural environment. This is provided by wooden floors, wooden tables and chairs, brightly coloured soft furnishings, local & contemporary artwork, fresh cut flowers, subtle lighting and an open log fire in the winter months. There is an enclosed private beer garden with stunning open views over the Borders countryside. The seven bedrooms provide comfort and relaxation with homely charm & modern facilities.
The Allanton Inn is a perfect retreat, stop over or an excellent base for exploring the many fascinating places of interest throughout the Scottish Borders and Northumberland and to indulge in the wealth of outdoor activities that the area has to offer. Truly an all year round destination!.

Gorgeous little pub and restaurant in the small village of Allanton. We were made very welcome and were very lucky to be able to eat, despite not having made a reservation. Food and atmosphere were both excellent. Could not fault it.

Excellent menu, difficult to choose what to have. All the dishes we had were well presented and delicious. The lemon syllabub was a refreshing light way to finish a lovely meal. Friendly service extended to superb breakfast after good night's sleep. Highly recommended.
Ordered a fish platter for three (requires 48 hrs notice) as a special treat and it certainly delivered. Delicious, plentiful and super fresh fish and shellfish, plus perfect chips, good salad, scrumptious puds and friendly staff, Couldn't ask for more.
