A strange place, this. I visited this place 5 times, and to this day, I have no idea what the manager or any of the staff are called. They are very, very impersonal. It's always crowded and, consequently, expect very long waits at the bar. The clientelle are mostly friendly, but some are strangely manic and drunk, and I never felt entirely at ease here. I was, in fact, assaulted by a drunken loon one night while minding my own business. The doormen sorted this for me very quickly. I was blameless in this. The manager actually approached me and apologised for the incident. The only conversation I'd ever had with any of the staff. On my last visit, the doormen, one of whom I'd never met before, refused entry to my family, who were 18 and 21, and had photo identification, which is why I no longer visit. I will never, ever return.

It's a nice enough place to visit now & then with efficient friendly staff & good beer at very reasonable prices.
Proper old style pub good selection of drinks and reasonable prices. Full of local characters all giving it a go on the karaoke
Great place to listen to music watch sporting events racing etc and football. Friendly welcoming staff and occasionally live music and karaoke. Previously i offended the staff in the pub and sincerely apologise to layla the knew young bar member. After chatting with her we have now become friends and she contributes regularly with a strange taste in music on free juke box. I am older person so we regularly have a laugh at her choice of music. Ronnie the d.j also provides good music of different tastes at the weekend which makes the bar inviting and a fun place.

The Old Bank is known as the best local in Waterloo. We show all live sport on our big screen and multiple TV screens. All racing channels are available. There is a variety of cask ale available and we have an external drinking area to the rear of our pub
