We have been going to this hotel over the Christmas period for the last 9 years (except 1 year during Covid) and always had a great time, but we won’t be back. The hotel has gone downhill so much. The price has risen for the 4 nights but the service has gone down. The dining tables are pushed together so much that people cannot move their chair to let others sit down. Also, the food is now AWFUL. Evening meals are so poor and quite tasteless. Breakfast is a nightmare with folk having to get up from their table to let you past to make tea and toast etc. tea and coffee machines are almost unreachable because dining chairs are blocking the floor. Our table was pushed right against the fire escape door and we had to move dining furniture to get in to sit down. Staff were friendly enough but hotel now seems to be on its last legs.

We had our Christmas party here. Also had a Christmas lunch here. The food was lovely. The service spot on. The place is looking really good inside. And outside. I've not stayed here so I can't tell you what the rooms are like. As we live local.

Lovely hotel . Perhaps in need of a bit of TLC ( The windows were the old wooden type ) but this did not affect our stay . Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable it was cleaned daily . The food was lovely a different three course menu everyday , breakfast was self service with plenty of choice. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay . The town centre is a very short walk from the hotel.

I stayed a night here in August 2023 as an interim stop on my way to Edinburgh. I cannot praise the service provided by hotel staff highly enough. Firstly, the duty manager sorted me out a single room at a few hours notice despite it being peak season. He was an absolute gentleman. Secondly, I had been travelling on minimal sleep and was quite tired. I was up early in the morning so that I could catch the first train to Glasgow and in my half asleep state I left my wedding ring behind in my rush to make my train. It was only after the train had been travelling for 15 minutes that I realised I had left it behind. Queue a frantic phone call to the hotel and what I can only describe as some of the best customer service I have ever received. Not only did the staff immediately retrieve my ring but they also posted it back to me in Australia free of charge. I called them up after getting home and tried to pay for postage but they refused to take my money and said they were just happy to help. Amazing. Thank you to the excellent people working at the Alexandra Hotel. I truly appreciate it.

A nice hotel in a great location - ideal for exploring Fort William. Rooms are a little tired and dated but very clean. Breakfast was good quality and a lot to choose from. We stayed for one night before our Three Peaks challenge. I'd happily stay again for a night or two.
