The Ale House is an independent micro-pub in Clitheroe, Lancashire. We opened in 2015 and have specialised in fantastic cask & modern keg beers and unusual craft bottles and cans from home and abroad.
We stock a varied range of spirits including some great gins and superb American whiskies; our wine selection is supplied by the famous Byrne's of Clitheroe.
We have two bar rooms downstairs and a quieter room upstairs which is great for board games, meetings or just a social get together with friends.
We also host regular live music events and occasional comedy nights.
Choose from our selection of constantly changing local and regional cask ales; several modern keg beers, craft cider or a fantastic German Berliner Pilsner. Our huge selection of canned and bottled craft beers are available to drink on the premises or to take away.
Pay us a visit and discover what real beer is all about at The Ale House, Clitheroe.

Great beer, good entertainment for a Sunday evening!
Spot on local drinking place. Decent ales that rotate. Good open mic second and last Sunday 5-7pm.
02/10/23: back again, with friends this time from work. Spreading the craft ale word! Phil enjoyed a good sing song on thebpiano upstairs! 17/04/23: what a fabulous choice of craft ale, even though I fancied a sour. We had the Vocation Brewery; Twix stout and the Black Edge Brewing; Pike pale ale. Good service. Dog friendly. Definitely lots of choice!
Good range of ales, lager and cider either draft or cans. Good atmosphere casual and friendly. Welcomes dogs.
Lovely little pub. Friendly landlord who can’t do enough for you. Stopped in for a quiet lunchtime pint whilst the wife was shopping. He sorted the kids out with drinks that kept them quiet. Peace on earth!
