The bar area is lovely and comfy and I like the range of drinks and the ambience of the place. Unfortunately there are never enough staff and those that are on duty clearly have to fulfil many roles at once. This makes for very slow service, albeit courteous and friendly. In a quiet afternoon shift today, the cocktaiI I ordered took over 10 minutes to arrive and there were no other customers at the bar during that time. I still really like the place, but it could be first class.

Really nice hotel, I have stayed here twice and both times the rooms have been well presented and clean. The building itself is quite old, so the floor sometimes creaks a bit. The rooms all have a kettle and tea and coffee, and biscuits, and little milk sachets, you can get fresh milk from reception of you prefer. The rooms also come with shampoo, conditioner and bodywash in the bathrooms, there is a hairdryer in each room also. The rooms are all nice and spacious. They all have a TV, and a radio, the radio is usually on when you first enter the room. They offer limited room service, there is a restaurant and a bar, with lots of space and seating. The main reception area also has lots of seating if you needed to wait for someone or something.

Stayed for 2 night New Year package deal. Great welcome, good food, very pleased with our lovely spacious room. Still got gala dinner and another nights stay, but so far everything is 5 star. Would return.

Very poor hotel accommodation/service but restaurant staff are very nice. We had a really cold breeze coming in from the windows (that were covered by thick curtains for obvious reasons). I asked 3 people over 4 hours for an extra heater and they just ignored me and made excuses. The only guy working at 200% was John who had to look after the restaurant as well as the hotel accommodation. He needs support from management as he's worked way too hard. It really seems that Coach & Horses like to do the bare minimum to "refurbish" "hotels" as our hotel room was in a very poor state. The kettle was disgusting with layers of limescale and when water was poured into it, there was a powder of limescale floating around. We obviously gave up on using it. The laughable attitudes at this hotel were typified by the fact that they even covered a double bed in this room with a quilt that was clearly for a single bed!! I really could not believe it! It is such a pity that this hotel is in such a sad state because it's a nice building with fantastic potential but it seems that the owners have not been able to invest what is needed to make it fit for purpose.

Stayed for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my band also had a gig next door at Old Nicks. Rooms really nice, well equipped and comfortable. Only downside was whoever was in the room on the floor above were extremely noisy and the rooms don't have much sound proofing. Staff are very helpful both with rooms and at the bar and restaurant. Breakfast is nice with a good selection of cooked and fruit/ cereal options with as much tea and coffee you can drink. Evening meals are also very nice. Thoroughly recommend staying and eating at The Admiral Rodney.
