I really like this pub, great ales on tap, nice, friendly staff. Lots of outdoor space when it's not freezing! Pork pies with a bit of Mustard also excellent!
I haven’t been in the admiral for a least 45 years yes 45 years I was in their with the late Tom Roster from Shrewsbury it was fabulous Pub in those days and still is with friendly staff and great atmosphere it’s proper Pub Looking forward to be back in UK so I can come back from the Algarve to be in the Admiral Benbow Paul Reynolds
Really good ale house in Shrewsbury serving a wide range of real ale and ciders. Large sheltered outside seating . Quite a quirky set up. Nice pub. Highly recommended for a couple of pints 🍻
Thanks to the pandemic etc, I hadn't been in this excellent town centre pub for a while, so had forgotten just how good it is. While other establishments adopt gimmicks to try to attract new custom, the Admiral Benbow sticks to the values of a traditional English pub and is all the better for it - great atmosphere (music kept in the background, not loud like in other pubs) very friendly staff, wide range of well kept ales, charming little beer garden. The recipe seems to work, because when my wife and I visited on a Wednesday night, The Admiral was bustling, with customers of wide ranging ages, all having a great time, whereas other pubs in the town seemed to be very quiet, in comparison. I would agree with others who have said that this is one of the very best pubs in Shrewsbury - within staggering distance of the town's main square and we'll worth searching out.
Decent pub, painfully slow service and miserable staff, the pub itself is fine and the beer/ales on tap are nice also had the rugby on so I’m guessing they play various games when there on. Decent sized beer garden

A cosy town centre inn where you can always savour a decent pint, hearty pub-food and a ghost story or two...
